EVRAZ allocates more than RUB300 million to counteract COVID-19
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, EVRAZ has allocated more than RUB300 million to ensure safe working conditions for employees, as well as to support medical and preschool institutions in local communities in Sverdlovsk and Kemerovo regions, Moscow and Tula.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Group has purchased personal protective equipment, remote temperature measurement devices and antiseptics, as well as disinfection and bactericidal equipment.
EVRAZ ensures that all employees involved in production processes that continue to operate have the necessary protective equipment and is implementing various additional precautionary measures, such as regular sanitation of industrial, administrative and household premises, as well as corporate transport.
The Group has also purchased additional laptops to allow corporate services to remotely perform their full scope of work. All employees working remotely (including EVRAZ experts in the 60+ age category and people who have returned from business trips to other regions of Russia) receive full pay.
The Group has financed the purchase of specialised equipment, transport and protective gear for hospitals in Kemerovo and Sverdlovsk regions. In particular, Novokuznetsk’s municipal clinical infectious disease hospital No. 8 is being renovated to accommodate a PCR laboratory that has been purchased. EVRAZ is also assisting the municipal clinical hospitals and kindergartens in Novokuznetsk, Nizhny Tagil, Kachkanar and Tashtagol.
EVRAZ continues to purchase as much equipment, protective gear and disinfection products as possible to ensure that production enterprises have the necessary level of inventory, as well as to further support medical institutions.
