Andrey Davydov to head Coal Division

EVRAZ plc (LSE: EVR; “EVRAZ” or the “Group”) announces the appointment of Andrey Davydov as the Vice President and Head of the Coal Division, effective 26 June. The Board of Directors of Raspadskaya Coal Company (RCC, managing the coal assets of EVRAZ) has approved the appointment of Andrey Davydov as General Director of RCC.

Andrey Davydov joined EVRAZ in 2010. For five years, he headed EVRAZ’ Sukha Balka iron ore mine in Ukraine; and, from 2016, Management Company EVRAZ Mezhdurechensk which manages the Sibugulmet group. Under his supervision, a management structure in line with EVRAZ practices was created and the highest standards implemented for occupational health and industrial safety, all while maintaining production growth levels.

Andrey graduated from the Physics department of Kemerovo State University with a degree in Microelectronics and obtained additional education at the mining department of Moscow State Open University (specialisation in “Subterranean development of subsoil resources”). He is a graduate of the Presidential programme at the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation.

Sergey Stepanov, the outgoing Vice President at EVRAZ and the Head of the Coal Division made the decision to continue his career outside of EVRAZ.

“Sergey worked at EVRAZ for around seven-and-a-half years. With his broad expertise in the mining industry and knowledge of the latest technological solutions, our mining enterprises have developed successfully and more than met market challenges. Under the management of Sergey Stepanov and with his direct participation, a unified system for the management of EVRAZ’ coal enterprises was created, the system for industrial safety was strengthened and innovative digital solutions were introduced,” commented Alexander Frolov, EVRAZ Chief Executive Officer. “Today, the Coal Division is in an excellent shape and this was in no small part Sergey’s personal contribution. I want to thank Sergey for his outstanding work and high level of engagement, for the positivity that he always brought to the atmosphere of the workplace and I want to wish Sergey success in all of his endeavours in a new field. I congratulate Andrey on his new appointment and wish him success in achieving the ambitious goals set before him.”
