Evraz Palini & Bertoli

Evraz Palini & Bertoli is a rolling mill plant located in San Giorgio di Nogaro (in the province of Udine), Italy. Palini supplies its products to a wide range of customers located in Europe, as well as in North America. In 2007, it produced about 445 thousand tonnes of rolled products.

Facilities

Since 1992, Palini has been producing steel plates using a Four-High Mill (Quarto). Another mill, Two-High Mill (Duo), was built in 2005. Its function in the production process is of complementary nature. Two-High Mill (Duo) is designed to speed up the production and back up the Four-High Mill's (Quarto) rolling process.
Palini's production facilities are one of the largest in the Central and Northern Italy area and have an annual production capacity of 500 thousand tonnes of plates of a wide range of sites and quality.

Products

Palini e Bertoli produces customised, high-quality plate products for the construction, shipbuilding and automotive industries.
Size range:
- width from 1500 to 3000 mm
- length from 4000 to 21000 mm
- plate weight up to 22 tons

Quality control

Palini operates a quality assurance system certified under ISO 9001:2000. Palini's ISO 9001:2000 certificate satisfies requirements of major shipping organisations, such as R.I.N.A., LLOYD Register, Der Norske Veritas and Buro Veritas. Since 1992, Palini has produced steel plates complying with Italian D.M. 14/02/'92 n. 55 standard.

History

The first production unit was built in 1963 in Spinedasco (Cremona) by Ing.Bertoli and his wife Mrs. Palini. In 1991 after joining Beltrame Group and Pittini Group, the company's steel operations were transferred to a new plant in San Giorgio di Nogaro (Udine province) while production in Spinedasco stopped.
In 2005 Evraz Group took control of the company.
